Everyone is a smart investor!

Born in 60's or 70's:
Talk to people born in 60's/70's about investments, they suggest you whole lot of things;
Fixed deposits, government bonds, LICs, National Saving Certificates, PPF.
Well all will surely give you returns but in single digits though for any given year.

Born in 80's or 90's:
Talk to people born in 80's/90's about investments, they suggest un-conventional methods like chit funds, gold/silver coins. But beware there is thin line between chit fund and cheat fund.

Born in 2000 century:
Talk to people born in 2000 century about investments, you can only hear mutual funds/IPOs/stocks/real estate.

When it comes to investment everyone is an expert. Nothing can be regarded as the best method of investment, it is all about distribution. Never put all your eggs in a single basket.

A smart investor should always think like people in 60's/70's/80's/90's and also take an element of risk by investing in mutual funds/IPOs/stocks/real estate.
